Conversation Description

Every society develops rules about love, commitment, fidelity, and family, often treating them as timeless truths rather than human inventions. But what if our institutions aren't simply reflections of who we are, but attempts to shape who we become? Throughout history, civilization has asked people to restrain some instincts, encourage others, and redefine what it means to live together. As culture evolves, so do our expectations of relationships, identity, and intimacy. This conversation explores the dynamic relationship between biology and culture, asking whether our ideas about sex and love reveal human nature or whether human nature itself is continually being rewritten by the societies we create.
